The two-dimensional local magnetic properties of a three-phase transformer core were measured by means of a new vectorical magnetic sensor. This sensor perform measurements more accurately and simply than existing sensors by using the double-H-coil and double-needle probe methods. We obtain distribution of the rotational magnetic field strength H, the rotational magnetic flux density B, and the relationship between them. Using the results obtained, we analyze the distributions of the permeability tensor and the iron loss under various excitement conditions.
