Various types of “mixed-use streets” have been introduced in recent years. In this paper, we first proposed an idea of the way to classify the “mixed-use streets” in planned residential developments, mainly based on the residents’ relationships to those streets. Secondly, we investigated the utilizations of “Yurinoki-dori” in Tokyo, which belongs to the “mixed-se streets as a core of the community” by our classification. By our analyses, this street seems to achieve the expected role.
