THE OBJECT OF THIS STUDY IS TO DESCRIBE THE COMPLEX ASPECT OF HUMAN ACTIVITY IN URBAN SPACE BY LOOKING AT PEDESTRIAN DISTRIBUTION. IN THIS PAPER, THE SURVEY METHOD OF PEDESTRIAN QUANTITY USING A VIDEO CAMERA IS PLANNED BECAUSE IT CAN COLLECT THE DATA OF WIDE AREA IN SHORT TIME. THE PEDESTRIAN DISTRIBUTION SURVEY IS CARRIED OUT IN SIBUYA WHICH IS ONE OF THE TYPICAL BUSY QUARTERS IN TOKYO. USING COLLECTED DATA AS A BASIS, THE PEDESTRIAN DISTRIBUTION IN SIBUYA IS ANALYZED. THE PEDESTRIAN QUANTITY WHEN THEIR DESTINATION IS EQUALLY DISTRIBUTION ON URBAN PLANE IS SIMULATED BY COMPUTER USING A SIMPLE MODEL. THUS THE RELATION BETWEEN THE DISTRIBUTION DENSITY OF THE PEDESTRIANS' DESTINATION AND THE PEDESTRIAN QUANTITY WAS CONSIDERED.
