Japanese traditional country towns are composed of urban elements and rural elements in general, but the way how they are composed orderly is not clear. In this paper, we made clear of spatial composition of Kiragawa Town and the process of its formation. Kiragawa is composed of two areas and they are made by different principles. One is formed by the rural principle, and the other is by the urban principle, because they were made in different eras. But houses in the areas are common in its planning composition, and are adjusted to each environment by introducing zasiki rooms in a smart way.
