抄録

In recent years, preservation of townscape has been greatly advanced, and building height guidance is under construction by ordinance in several cities. This paper aims to examine their achievements in Kumamoto, Kanazawa, Kyoto and Kurashiki City, and to make clear how to control building height for preservation of townscape. In conclusion we find that its planning system has been established with various countermeasures which include not only strengthening regulation but also flexible conducting.
