In the tourist district, it is important to protect the environment for pedestrians in order to promote its attractiveness. This paper descreibes characteristics of pedestrians in the tourist district based on the questionnaire survey conducted in Oku-Nikko area and in the tourist spots attached to dams. Three indices, namely staying hour, walking distance in the tourist district and the ratio between them are used to represent the characteristics. Factors which affect the indices are clarified by factor analysis using Survival Function.
