Kuzuu town in Tochigi Prefecture has been known as one of the most developed cement industrial town in Japan and they established quite characteristics culture related to the cement industry. Now this town is on the crossway with the social background of recent stagnant demand for cement. This study attempt to manifest the transition of image to cement industry in descriptions of student's essays, local folksongs, or school anthems in Kuzuu Town. Obtained images are, (1) The tendency of indirect perception of environmental issues brought by cement industry, (2) Descending attention to the cement industry, and (3) Reinstatement of image as line industrial town.
