Abstract
Currently, the regional organizations in England have achieved important roles for planning policies and practice, and a number of new organizations were established for the urban regeneration. This paper deals with planning for the urban regeneration in England, and attempts to clarify how planning and key players work for the regeneration. The paper firstly reviews the national and local planning for urban regeneration, followed by the analysis of urban deprived areas and distribution of funding under the Single Regeneration Budget. From the analysis, the structure of regeneration planning, selection of regeneration area based on the priority order, development systems for the deprived area are important for the Japanese urban regeneration.
