Abstract
For preserving the farmlands at the metropolitan fringe, the evaluation according to their landscaping value is undoubtedly important. In grasping the agricultural landscape quantitatively, the analysis which has considered the relation between farmlands and other neighboring land-use is required. Related to both facts that mentioned above, the aims of this study is to clarify the characteristic of the agricultural landscape by evaluating the Edge lines between the farmlands and the adjoining land-uses exhaustively at the metropolitan fringe. From the result, some phenomena and tendency that can be clarified. The farmlands which adjoin mainly residential area are the most popular type. At the urbanization control area, the new developed welfare facilities and storages have been caused the big influences to farmland landscapes because they are like the big wall beside the farmlands.
