Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the green spaces in Kawasaki Sea-side Industrial Zone, especially focusing their qualities. Since target areas have been created by the reclamation starting from 1920's, all green spaces are not developed in natural but artificial environment. Based on this background, we created the method of analyzing green spaces in reclaimed areas, by thinking matrix between original planting design thought and existing layered ecological structure. We conclude that the characteristic of green spaces in this area is severely lacking the multi layer plant communities, because of the original design thought and management system, which have caused to prevent the healthy development of surface soils. It is essential to consider this critical situation, and introduce the sound management system.
