Study on users' consciousness of safety and usability of pedestrian crossing in a retail power center parking lot

Abstract

In large scale shopping center, there is large storage parking lot because there is expectation of a lot of private vehicle owners coming for shopping. However, for the parking lot users, they tend to select the parking space which is far from the shopping entrance and thus there is a major problem with safety and comfortability. In this research, the effective countermeasures in such field were discussed. Structure of users' consciousness related to the pedestrian crossing was clarified. Then, based on these results, the needs and importance of suggested countermeasures were discussed.
