The purpose of this study was to analyze what type of physical education courses would influence the exercise-self-efficacy level and the Stages of Change for exercise scales of female fine-arts university students. The students were divided into two groups; the Lecture Group and the Skills-Based Group. The results of the analysis showed that the pre and post test results for the Skills-Based Group showed a greater progress in the Stages of Change, as compared to the Lecture Group, with only a few subjects reporting no change. In regards to exercise self-efficacy (SE) a positive correlation was shown between the pre and post-test scores for the Skills-Based Group. Looking at these results, it can be said that even for female fine arts students whom have a relatively low physical fitness level, that a practice based lessons can positively influence their daily exercise habits.
