The relationship between application timing of insecticide or acaricide and generation of phytotoxicity was investigated in Japanese pear cultivated in a greenhouse. Nine insecticides and 11 acaricides were sprayed to young leaves on 4th, 13th, 20th and 35th day after the full bloom, and the phytotoxicity, especially the leaf rolling and chlorosis, was examinated. Fenbutatin oxide and fenpyroximate did not cause any phytotoxicity. The insecticides and acaricides other than the two chemicals showed considerable phytotoxic damage within 2 to 3 weeks after the full bloom, but no phytotoxicity after 4 weeks of the full bloom.
