Ni++ ions of Ni(CN)2·NH3·C6H6 are linked up making the two dimensional square network through the -C-N- bonds. Magnetic susceptibility, magnetization, nuclear magnetic resonance of this complex compound were measured at liquid helium and liquid hydrogen temperature ranges. From the present result, the magnetic moment is 2.18 μB and θ=−2.7°K in the expression χ=C⁄(T−θ). The result of saturation magnetization shows the fact that one half of Ni++ ions in this compound is in the paramagnetic state (S=1) with ∼3.0 μB and the other half in the diamagnetic one (S=0) with the zero magnetic moment. This compound is antiferromagnet that has a magnetic phase transition at TN=2.37±0.01°K which agrees with the inflection point on the susceptibility versus temperature curve at zero external field. In the antiferromagnetic state, the value of anisotropy field was found at HA≈8kOe.
