This study examined how driver's visual attention was influenced when driving under the sate of drowsiness to gain knowledge about driver's impairment regarding recognition for objects. In this study an area in which drivers were able to detect objects was estimated by using the dynamic available visual field method. Results of a driving simulator experiment showed that drowsy driving impaired driver's visual attention, particularly on the condition that there is no vehicle ahead, compared with normal driving.
