Abstract
Dynamic pericardium, consisting of two balloons which are inserted into the pericardial cavity, was developed to squeeze out blood from the ventricles which have less or no functions. Biventricular assistance were performed by DP in 8 mongrel dogs with fibrillating hearts for 2 to 8 hours. During the assistance mean aortic pressure was maintained 50 to 70mmHg. After the total assistance was over all ventricles were successufully defibrillated.
