A new low molecular weight protein, called armicroglobulin, was purified from the urine of the patient with tubular proteinuria. The armicroglobulin was found to be a glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 33,000, determined by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, and a carbohydrate content of 21.7%. It was migrated in the fast al-region on electrophoresis. Antiserum against α 1microglobulin was prepared by infecting into rabbits, and its final preparation did react monospecifically against the purified α 1 microglobulin. Furthermore, the antisera did react with normal human serum and normal urine, but did not react with sera of other species of animals. References
