Abstract
The thick clay layers deposit below the seabed at Kobe Airport that was constructed off shore of Kobe Port. It was necessary to design the ground height and the angle of pavement surface with considering the consolidation property at reclamation and pavement works. Therefore, the settlement by these works was analyzed with soil data surveyed before construction works, and predictive value has been reviewed continuously with the data measured at working, and the construction works have been often improved for making the facilities of more high grade. For example, the process of reclamation work that unequal settlement didn’t occur after pavement work, and the height and angle of pavement surface of considering consolidation property have been designed. As a result, after the construction works, the injurious settlement didn’t occur, and Kobe Airport is in possession of the faculties of high grade.
