AN ANALYSIS ON THE IMAGE OF THE CITY BY TEXT MINING USING FREE ANSWER DATA

Abstract

The questionary survey to citizen is carried out in Japan, The questionnaire sheet is often provided with the column of the free answer, but the data are not analyzed quantitatively enough until now. The aim of this study is to analyze free answer data quantitatively and to examine one method to clarify the image of the city, utilizing the text mining technique of the field of natural language processing. We carried out the questionary survey to residents of the left side of Tone River in Maebashi City. We analyzed relations of free answer data and the satisfaction of quality of life. And we showed one method to clarify the image of the city, by analyzing the collocation of words.
