Abstract
In Europe, some successful practical evaluation indicators of urban sustainability have been introduced. This study aims to clarify results of European experience about urban sustainability evaluation indicators focusing on mainly their influences on policy-making and behavior of local governments through the literature survey about representative indicators and interviews with some key persons in Europe. As a result, we found out that most of their indicators attach importance to transportation and some local governments in Europe have been influenced to implement policy-making and act as sustainable cities by application of urban sustainability evaluation indicators.
