A STUDY ON WAY TO UTILIZE “WAREHOUSE RENOVATION” FOR REVITALIZATION OF “MINATOMACHI” IN JAPAN —FOCUSING ON THE AREA COMPOSITION OF PORTS REGISTERED AS “MINATO OASIS”—

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to present the promotion measures for “warehouse renovation” in “Minato Oasis”, which is the measures for regional revitalization of ports in Japan. This study was conducted a literature survey and a hearing survey on 139 ports registered in “Minato Oasis” regarding the range where the constituent facilities of “Minato Oasis” and the ports with “warehouse renovation”. As a result, it clarified below; (1) Two port types, “port area limited type” and “port and city integrated type” in “Minato Oasis”, (2) Actual utilization of renovation warehouses in each port type, (3) It is important for the revitalization of “Minato Machi” that the “warehouse renovation” is based on characteristics of the “Minato Oasis” registration area.
