Roadside stations called ‘Michi-no-eki’ are facilities for enhancing functions such as parking and resting along ordinary roads in Japan. However, there is no concrete index for the optimal placement of rest facilities such as roadside stations in the whole road network, and there are few researches about that. Therefore, in this study, we model the rest place selection behavior of ordinary road users for rest facility placement evaluation. This model calculated the utility as an evaluation index considering the combination of rest facilities to stop by for any trip, and constructed a framework in which the model parameters can be derived from the SP data. In addition, as a result of verification of its practicality, it was confirmed that the stop-by pattern with greater utility tends to be selected, and the structure of the model is appropriate.
