Abstract
 Last year's Kumamoto earthquakes forced dormitory students to take refuge life in gymnasium for two weeks at Yatsushiro campus of NIT Kumamoto college. Students seriously recognized the importance of mutual help and self-help, and they recognized the need for improvement of their action plans based on time-line disaster prevention.
 This study aims to evaluate the students' efforts in terms of organizational operation and plan formulation of disaster prevention. The most significant aspect is that most of the activities is initiated by the students, who have given training, formulated plan and conduct continuous improvements in PDCA cycle. This students-centric activities in group life serves as a basis to create disaster prevention system in terms of both mutual help and self-help.
