Data science is said to be a complex science of mathematics, statistics, and informatics. In recent years, data science has been expected as a method of decision making based on big data, but this is mainly in the field of informatics. On the other hand, from an engineering point of view, it is necessary to obtain some knowledge with a small amount of data, which can be said to be the field of statistics. Statistics is often educated as a field of mathematics, but it is essentially inductive reasoning, and a part other than mathematics is also important. For this reason, it is desirable that data science education in engineering should be conducted in a well-balanced manner in the three fields of mathematics, statistics, and informatics.
