Two Japanese national women’ s universities have decided to start Faculties of Engineering, and several Japanese national universities also announced to start the new entrance examination systems accepting female students in Faculties of Engineering. So, the Diversity Research Group in JSEE proposed Organized Session (OS) “A new diverse society created by female students in engineering” in the 70th and the 71st JSEE Annual Meetings. This paper proposes the discussion “why are female students in engineering expected?” form the perspectives of engineering education and enterprise.
