Reliance on the GCM model output, especially on the projection simulation output can be achieved through an evaluation of the model output reproducibility for the current climate condition. We examined the output from a super-high-resolution global atmospheric general circulation model (AGCM20) producing 20-km spatial resolution and 1-hour temporal resolution output. A distributed hydrologic model was composed for various basin scales ranging from 60 km2 to 8,772 km2 in the Tone River basin, Japan. The result shows that the AGCM20 output provide excellent discharge output when the basin scale is more than 5,000 km2, while remaining a limitation on its utilization into a smaller basin.
