Understanding The Socio-economic Impact of Chao Phraya River Flood 2021 Flood in Ayutthaya

Tremendous flood causing hundreds of dead and total losses of 1.36 trillion baht occurred in Chao Phraya River flood 2011. After a decade huge flood reappeared in the river in 2021 due to monsoon and several typhoons entered Thailand between September and October.Previous study revealed that 2021 flood depth disparity occurred between urban and rural in Chao Phraya River flood 2021. He discussed that disparity might also have a strong correlation to the household social environment characteristic and their income class. We argued that the poorest in rural area suffered the most among other class household and disparity caused by flood from 2011 and 2021 is widening. Using survey data that were directly collected in Ayutthaya and statistical analysis, we investigated and found initial results that the household suffered from very high flood above 200cm mostly were from very poor and middle poor in rural Ayutthaya.
