Abstract
This paper discusses the case where a finite element method is applied for eddy current calculation on a multiply-connected domain. We show that the coefficient matrix of the finite element method degenerates in accordance with the number of 'holes' in the domain, whien we approximate the electric field by 'Nedelec's finite elements'in the dicretization process. We propose a countermeasure for the degeneracy of th coefficient matrix. This measure is tantamount to assigning the time change rate of magnetic fluxes through holes. Finally we present some numerical examples.
