Nowadays, at any field under construction, the greatest neck problem to be solved on soil dressing by transporting mud water, is the entire process toward supplying mud water to a pump, above all to continuously prepare the dense mud water.
In this paper the process of field test on getting the dense mud water continuously with jet water crushing soil mass and the interpretation there of are reported.
The apparatus (Fig. IV-3) of the test is described in the followings. The soil excavated from the appropriate lot by machine, is changed into mud water using jet water, flows down into a thickening basin, being condensed there continuously, and is conducted out from the bottom of the basin as the dense mud water. On the other hand, the over flow water contained finer soil particles from the end of the basin is used as jet water repeatedly.
In conclusion, since there are still several problems in this method, some means should be taken, such as making mud water as densely as possible using high pressure jet water and introducing it to a pump, without troublesome operations of condensation.
