An exploration of the theoretical foundation of IT-capability : Introductory essay for special issue(<Special Issue>From Technology Capability to Management Capability)

Abstract

The IT capability upon resource-based view in strategic management entails critical problems. The generalized and abstracted feature of meta-capability would wreck firm-specific assets, which are the theoretical grounds for a firm's competitive advantage. In this paper, we aim to reconstruct the theoretical foundation of IT capability in order to resolve this problem and to develop a methodology for the practical design of strategic IT management.
