Abstract

Recently, laser-toning by using low fluence Q-switched Nd:YAG laser has been one of the effective methods to care melasma. Shorter pulse duration, picosecond laser has stronger photo-acoustic effect compared with nanosecond Q-switched laser system. In my clinical practice, picosecond Nd:YAG laser has high efficacy of clearance melasma. However little is known about the mechanism. And more, irradiation combined with 532 and 785 nm wavelengths has the potential in aesthetic field; rejuvenation.
