Diode laser trabeculoplasty (DLT) was carried out for the treatment of primary open angle glaucoma and capsular glaucoma patients, that were untolerable for the topical and oral treatment. The device used was LASER DIODE PHOTOCOAGULATOR DC-3000 (NIDEK). Power used was 950-1400mW, with spot size of 100μm, pulse of 0.1 second.
Follow up period ranged from 2 months to 12 months (mean 6.4 months). Effective cases were 15 eyes out of 25 eyes (60%) at the time of the last follow up visit. Early rise of IOP after DLT was 2mmHg at the maximum level. DLT is effective and safer treatment for open angle glaucoma.
