Patients with allergic rhinitis most often present themselves with such symptoms as nasal obstruction, watery nasal discharge, or sneezing. There are numerous medical or surgical treatment to manage the problem. We applied Laser to inferior turbinectomy and vaporization.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficiency of the KTP/532 Laser in inferior turbinectomy to allergic rhinitis. Sixty patients treated with KTP/532 Laser were reviewed. These operation was performed under local anesthesia and on an out patient basis. Pre and post rhinomanometry were compared to assess nasal airway improvement. we also evaluated the improvement of symptoms through “Allergy Diary” which the patient had kept. The followings were observed:
1) Nasal obstruction improved in 96% of the cases.
2) Watery nasal discharge improved in 83% of the cases.
3) Sneezing improved in 84% of the cases.
4) Overall improvement was observed in 96% of the cases.
