Intratumoral temperature and morphological change were studied in rat brain tumor model to assess the cause of anti-tumor effect by BPD photoradiation therapy.
At lower power density of the laser it was strongly suggested that tumor destruction was attributed to a photochemical reaction alone, but at high power density it was attributed to the effects of conbined photochemical reaction and hyperthermia.
