Abstract
There have been numerous works on saliva in the past. The author estimated the contents of glucose in saliva collected separately from parotid gland, submaxillary gland and sublingual gland following the method of separate collection of saliva devised by Prof. Umemoto of Osaka Dental College.
As regards the estimation method for glucose in saliva, the author modified the estimation method for blood sugar by Fujita and Iwatake to devise a micro-method for estimation which is described in the present paper. By means of the, method devised by the author, small amount of glucose can precisely be estimated, though 'it is not satisfactory for the glucose content exceeding 60 mg %.
Similar estimations were performed with samples from sublingual gland and submaxillary gland, but almost no reduction values were obtainable.
