A case of idiopathic osteolysis in a forty-one year old man is reported. The etiology of this case could not demonstrated. Roentgenologic examination of the right foot revealed a concentric tapering of phalanx and metatarsal bone. The onset of the foot trouble began three years ago about the deformity on the right foot. Laboratory tests showed negative finding except the abnormal findings in phletismography, serum uric acid, and total protein. We were replaced this bone by artificial plastic bone. Microscopic examination of a section of the phalanx showed replacement of the greater portion of bone by connective tissue.
