Abstract
One case of general paralysis hardly encountered due to the treatment with penicillin is reported. The patient is 44 years old male, and his sexual intercourse is rather frequent, but its volition has been reduced since the age of around 35, then, he was admitted in our hospital with the chief complaints of headache, dysarthria and reduced calculating power. By the neuro-psychiatric findings such as syllable stumbling and dementia as major symptoms as well as positive serological test for syphilis of spinal fluid, the patient was diagnosed as general paralysis. There was no abrnomal findings on EEG and cranial CT, however, no improvement was observed on the decrease in level of personality and dementia as major symptom. Although the symptom of general paralysis has been gradually reduced, the mechanism of etiology is still an insoluble problem.
