Because the process of atherosclerosis is almost irreversible, early prevention and detection have become increasingly important. However, existing non-invasive methods for assessing the risk of arterial stiffness, such as PWV (pulse wave velocity), are unsuitable for daily use. But, the photoplethysmogram (PPG) sensor used in PWV measurement devices is less constraining and easy to use, and is also used in wearable devices. Therefore, this study investigated the possibility of using PPG to evaluate the arterial stiffness placed on the radial artery, where the wearable device is worn.
