Abstract

The amount of insulation materials used is increasing due to the improvement of energy-saving performance in houses, and it’s expected that the amount of offcuts generated from insulation materials during construction will increase. Previous studies have shown that the amount of offcuts generated increases when plastic insulation used, and detailed analysis is required to reduce the amount of generated waste. Therefore, based on actual measurement data, we analyzed the effect of insulation specifications on the amount of thermal insulation remnants generated. In addition, the use of pre-cut materials is mentioned as a reduction measure, but the amount of reduction hasn’t been quantified. So, we aim to promote the use of pre-cut materials by quantifying it’s reduction. The amount of weight generated in basis was greater in the properties with outside basis insulation than with inside foundation insulation. This is thought to be due to the standard of the insulation material and the construction method. It was clarified that the amount of heat insulation in the basis that is close to the standard size due to cutting at the time of use is reduced. It also became clear that the amount of waste generated was reduced by using pre-cut materials.
