In this paper, we propose an appropriate technique to analyze the contact behavior between a stator and a lining material of an ultrasonic motor. Then, we compare the numerical results with exact solution obtained analytically by L. A. Galin and confirm the validity of the above technique. Moreover, on the base of incremental theory, we numerically analyze the complex contact behavior, which contains non-contact zone, slip zone and stick zone with use of the above technique in the case of a static model.
