This paper deal with the frequency responses of stable planar motions in a partially filled cylindrical tank with an eccentric core barrel. In theoretical analysis, the nonlinearity of the liquid surface oscillation and the nonlinear coupling between the dominant modes and other modes are considered in the response analysis of the sloshing motion. And, the governing equation of the amplitude of liquid surface motions are derived, and the stability analysis is conducted. An experiment was carried out using a model tank. The theoretical results of the frequency responses of the liquid surface displacements agree well with the experimental results.
