This paper deals with the nonlinear seismic response characteristics of the tall mechanical structure and the high-rise buildings without anchorage system. It is very important to evaluate the contact problem between the structure and it's foundation precisely on simulating the seismic response of these structures. In this paper, we modeled the contact behavior such as the uplifting and landing and the slip and stick as the linear complimentary problem. As the result we demonstrated some numerical simulation result for the tall mechanical structure.
