Abstract
A mount consisting of support rubber and a leaf spring with a rigid mass at one end is discussed to provide the damping characteristic which features hydraulic mount. The analysis model of this mount based on Bernoulli-Euler theory of beam vibration is presented to clarify the dynamic characteristics of damping and stiffness for this mount. The excitation testing and the analysis showed that this mount can realize the high damping over a certain range of frequencies, which is commonly seen in hydraulic mounts. The effectiveness of this mount on engine shake is demonstrated with on-vehicle testing.
