Transient Statistical Energy Analysis (TSEA) is a suitable tool to predict transient sound and vibration especially in huge structures like ship-buildings under the shock excitation. This paper discusses the behaviors of transient vibration energy responses on the L-shaped structure with two subsystems in order to find the agreement between the TSEA prediction and the real transient responses. At first, a lot of accelerations on the structure are measured under the impulsive excitation. Then the differences of their behaviors due to locations are discussed and it is concluded that the wave propagation theory is useful to understand their behaviors and the measurement procedure to get the good relation to the TSEA predictions can be derived. As a result, it is found that the average of the responses at several points which the coordination averaged is matched to the gravity center of the subsystem is good agreement with the TSEA predictions.
