In recent years, local sound field generation techniques that aim to deliver sound only to the target audience have been attracting attention, and some have proposed the use of parametric array loudspeaker. Parametric array loudspeaker is capable of generating localized audible sound that travels straight in a specific direction by taking advantage of the nonlinear interaction of large-amplitude ultrasonic waves. On the other hand, the sound propagates in the distance and is greatly affected by reflections, which may cause sound waves to be transmitted to a person outside the target. Therefore, it would be useful to control the propagation distance of radiated sound by a parametric array loudspeaker. However, the analysis of parametric array loudspeaker is computationally expensive, and not enough research has been conducted in three-dimensional acoustic space. In this study, we propose an efficient method for analyzing the generation of local sound fields by parametric array loudspeaker using the point source method.
