For supporting the early design process required to obtain diverse design candidates, we have attempted to construct a self-organizing form-generation system that produces various forms without an initial form. In this report, the developmental process of the self-organization was classified and hierarchical structure model was constructed using ISM. Then, the developmental factor of organism with high priority for diversity are extracted. And form-generation system was suggested by applying cellular automata to 3D form-generation. Then diversity index research was executed to define the setting of the system to obtain more diverse forms. And the present system was applied to chair design and the possibility of the use for designing was showed.
