This paper describes the development situation of present of the space elevator. The discovery of Carbon Nanotubes shifted the achievement of the space elevator from the dream world to the world of the engineering technology. Overviews of basic deployment method, current state of CNT development, tether requirement, climber requirement and current state, energy supply to climber and current state, the earth neighborhood environmental condition, energy excretion in descending.
