Usable elevators after earthquakes in high rise building is requested, that is, urban disaster managements is requesting to make elevators into the disaster prevention equipment in the high rise building. This report is studying the seismic design challenge of usable elevators after earthquakes, based on the earthquake-proof problem investigations result for the giant earthquake of Architectural Institute of Japan.
