The reason why the ski slides fast is that there is a heat generated partially by the friction between sliding surface and snow surface, and it melts a tip of the snow grains and it generates a thin water film instantaneously which work as the lubrication. But if the temperature is so high and there is a lot of water, sliding efficiency will decrease because of the increase of the viscosity resistance of the water. There is a method to reduce viscosity resistance, it is to carve many fine grooves called "texture" on sliding surface that drain off excess water between sliding surface and snow surface. In this study the authors take notice of the variation of the water that makes variation of viscosity resistance of water and coefficient of friction.
