Previous research has shown that subjects can recognize that they are dreaming and communicate to the laboratory their state of`lucid dreaming'by means of specific voluntary eyemovement signals(VEMSs)during REM sleep. Here we adumbrate our initial efforts to develop a method of automatically detecting VEMSs using the wavelet transform.
